A more uncommon form of acne remedy is to make a paste out of cumin and apply it on the face where the spots are. Whether this works at all I have no idea, but it may be worth a try if your doctor advises it.

A healthy diet is always a good idea, although studies have shown that chocolate doesn’t cause acne despite popular belief! However there may still be a link between fatty foods and acne so avoid them and eat healthily if possible.

In the last post I mentioned some of the more common home remedies that you can try for back acne, but I also mentioned that how effective they are has not really been proven by science so you shouldn’t expect too much in the way of results. Also bear in mind that you should never try any kind of treatment without first getting it cleared with your doctor. If you do though, here are some more home remedies for back acne that you could try.

One of the most common is to put ice on the inflamed spots before you go to bed. Never put ice directly on the skin but instead use a wet towel or cloth in between to avoid burning. This is great because it reduces inflammation around the area of the spots, although whether it will make your pimples go away is a different matter altogether.

Acne isn’t caused by dirt so washing may not help, although it is a good idea to keep your facial and back skin clean and healthy as much as possible, so washing befor eyou go to bed isn’t a bad idea, although it is unlikely yo reduce the amount of acne that you have.

If you think that you have a problem with back acne and want to get it sorted then one of the first things you should do is visit your doctor. He or she will be able to refer you to a skin care specialist who will be best placed to advise you on the best forms of treatment. However if your doctor says to try home remedies then there are several that you can try, although you should always get a doctors approval first.

For example you can get a bit of toothpaste and put it on any pimples and scars before you go to bed then wash it off in the morning. Do this a few times and you should see an improvement, although as with all home remedies they are not 100% accurate.

Another thing you could try is to put ripe tomato pulp right onto the spots for an hour or so and then remove. This isn’t the most pleasant of experiences and as far as I’m aware there has been no real evidence suggesting it works so take it with a pinch of salt! If you are desperate and your doctor advises it though then it could be at least worth a try if you can stomach it.

If like many people you suffer from acne then it can be an embarrassing and difficult problem to deal with – not least because it usually strikes in our teenage years when we are at our most vulnerable stage. The reason that acne occurs inthese places is because the hair follicles on the skin get bloacked, and they are much higher in density on the face, neck and back. Hence this is where acne strikes most.
